Tasting note
While Elsa Gangloff declined my request to taste at the property, arguing that all the wines were already sold, I was able to acquire a bottle. Wafting from the glass with notes of pear, jasmine, honeysuckle and ripe orchard fruits, the 2022 Condrieu from Elsa Ganfloff possesses a medium to full-bodied, dense and layered palate, with an enveloping, seamless texture, bright acids for a Viognier and a long, ethereal, spicy finish enhanced by delicate gastronomic bitterness. This is an absolute classic at this estate that should age beautifully over the next decade.

Radiant floral nose of acacia, jasmine and honeysuckle, with nectarine and passion fruit. Palate begins generous with peach and apricot above toasted rye crust. Mid-palate turns to tangerine, pineapple and cedar. Rich without heaviness, alcohol well integrated, finish long and clean.

Distinctive oily texture and a generous, delicious body. Intense, complex nose, fresh, fruit against minerality. Vivid and crisp, ginger and orange rind with honeysuckle, then a creamy long finish.

Glass-staining violet. Displays expansive, highly perfumed aromas of black raspberry and boysenberry, with exotic spice, violet oil, smoky mineral and incense notes building in the glass. Densely packed yet almost shockingly energetic on the palate, offering penetrating black and blue fruit liqueur, floral pastille, allspice and olive paste flavors with a hint of cracked pepper. The floral note carries emphatically through a wonderfully long, sharply detailed finish that's framed by youthfully gripping, polished tannins.

Brilliant purple. An exotically perfumed bouquet evokes black and blue fruit preserves, spicecake, potpourri and incense. Densely packed and impressively energetic on the palate, offering intense blueberry, cassis, cherry liqueur and floral pastille flavors that open up steadily on the back half. The floral and spice notes carry emphatically through the impressively long, youthfully tannic finish, which leaves a smoky mineral flourish behind.

Historically this site produced still red wine. Berries stay tiny because the soils are poor and stony, so yields are small but concentration is high. A blend of 60% Meunier and 40% Chardonnay, it still bursts with red fruits despite being a white wine. Planted at the foot of the Vandières slope, this single-vineyard cuvée is one of Nowack’s more forward-thinking wines: vinified in small barrels with a mix of spontaneous yeasts and Jura yeasts transported in lees. Old vines of 70–80 years bring red and golden fruit, strength, and lasting salinity. Echoes of red wine are easy to taste.

A harmonious blend of the three Champagne grapes from Bisseuil, Avenay Val d’Or and Mareuil-sur-Ay. Vines average 52 years; one Pinot Noir plot is 103 years. Aged 10 months on lees in the barrel. White blossom, green apple, a flicker of brioche. Freshness, structure and silk interlock. Long, mineral, quietly profound. Only 4,103 bottles produced.

70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay: 10 months in used oak, 36 months on lees, almost no dosage. You feel it before you catalogue it. Fruit steps aside; stone, salt and sap take over. Electric minerality runs the length of the palate — tactile, vertical, built for the table, stretching out with unforced nobility.

Pinot Noir dominant, with Chardonnay and Meunier, ; one harvest plus ~20% reserve wine. Fermented in old Bollinger barrels (the oldest from 1937), 30 months on lees, dosage 5–6 g/L.
Chalk tension and precise acidity meet creamy depth: citrus, green apple, spice, pastry and earth. Ripe yet taut, salty on the finish — old-school, built to drink at table.

Biodynamic fruit from old Marne Valley vines on clay, silt and limestone marl — Meunier with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir — then 13 years on the lees. The 2008 still has bite. Ripe orchard fruit, citrus peel, damp chalk and sweet ginger meet toasted brioche, hazelnut and a quiet oxidative warmth. Textured, vinous, long — maturity without fatigue.

45% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay, 10% Meunier from Écueil, Sacy and Villers-aux-Noeuds — three villages, three vintages (2017, 2018 & 2019). 30+ months on the lees and see no dosage. Ripe fruit sits on chalk and salt: blossom and green apple at first, then brioche, blackberry and cherry. The palate is creamy and layered, the acidity bright, the finish long and clean

Tasting note
A blend of 95% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Noir, the 2002 Brut Femme de Champagne from Duval-Leroy possesses a complex and elegant bouquet of ripe orchard fruits, almonds, pastry and lemon oil intertwined with vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, layered and seamless, round and enrobing, it’s charming with a deep core of fruit and a mineral, autolytic finish.

Exquisite, with flavors of apricot, pear, honey, and white flowers. Palate entry is generous and smooth, without any sweetness. Finish shines with subtle acidity and a whisper of toasted almond. An excellent wine that combines flavor, freshness, and texture.
