Tasting note
The 2017 Series M is a blend of 42% Merlot, 39% Malbec and 19% Cabernet Sauvignon matured in 23% new French oak for 22 months. It has a very classy bouquet of blackberry, bilberry, espresso and light cedar scents that feels controlled and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and a fine bead of acidity, and quite saline on the midpalate. The harmonious finish is laced with white pepper and clove. This is a superb Merlot/Malbec-blend from Vilafonté.
