2014 is a top vintage for white Burgundies - don’t miss Bonneau du Martray’s with intense minerality and exceptional aging potential. Maison Ponsot’s delivers exceptional depth and energy from Aloxe parcels. Domaine Poisot’s Corton-Charlemagne is a lighter take on the classic, featuring floral notes, fresh apple and honeyed depth. • Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2014 - Bt | AG95

    (750ml, HK$3,380 per bt)

The 2014 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is fabulous. It is a bright, airy Charlemagne bursting at the seams with tons of class. Lemon peel, crushed rocks and white pepper are some of the many notes that are laced together in the 2014. There is a feeling of phenolic intensity on the nish that is very distinctive. I would prefer to cellar the 2014 for at least a few years, as it is really not ready to offer maximum pleasure yet. Thirty percent of the harvest was lost to hail that year.

  • Maison Ponsot Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2020 - Bt | JM93-95

    (750ml, HK$2,700 per bt)

This has only just finished its fermentation, so there is a bit more gas. 5 barrels made. Clear pale lemon. Rather reductive on the nose. Interesting lemon scented minerals beneath, not yet together but fine potential. Quite sweetly scented but there is a lot happening here and the structure behind is all that it should be. Is it the oak which gives this extra sucrosity? Tasted Nov 2021.

  • Domaine Poisot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2020 - Bt | RP92-94

    (750ml, HK$1,400 per bt)

The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru opens in the glass with aromas of citrus zest, fresh bread, pear and beeswax. Full-bodied, taut and chalky, it's incisive and tightly wound, with lovely depth at the core and a long, tangy finish.

  • Maison Antonin Cosnier Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2021 - Bt

    (750ml, HK$2,100 per bt)

It showcases a pale yellow hue with golden glints. Its bouquet unfurls delicate floral notes with sweet spices. The palate reveals zesty citrus, creamy butter, and lush white fruits like pear and peach, balanced by vibrant minerality and a crisp, lingering finish.
