These recommended selections🤩 are the bottles you open when only the absolute best will do💖, and right now they’re priced in a way that honestly feels a little unreal: Musigny, Montrachet, Richebourg, Corton-Charlemagne… and that mature 1998 Domaine Leroy Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru we all dream about.
While these start at HK$2,450 and go up from there, the value is spectacular compared to where these bottles trade elsewhere.🙌
This is only part of the list. We also have many more top Burgundy Grand Crus and beyond await. Dive in before they’re gone!

Domaine Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2020 - Bt | NM95
HK$2700 ▷ HK$2450
The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has an attractive bouquet with melted candle wax, yellow plum and lanolin aromas. I appreciate the typicité in this Corton Charlemagne, and it is well-defined. It's one of the most intellectual aromatics that you have to sit and ponder. The palate is taut and fresh. There's a clever reduction at play here, tensile with a judicious pinch of ginger. This feels animated and supremely well-focused on the finish. Overall, the 2020 is an accomplished and satisfying Corton-Charlemagne. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Benjamin Leroux Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru 2015 - Bt | NM93-95
HK$3250 ▷ HK$2600
The 2015 Griotte Chambertin Grand Cru, from the top of the vineyard, has a fragrant bouquet with rose petal and iris aromas infusing the redcurrant and raspberry preserve scents, merging with more blue fruit as it opens in the glass. The whole cluster fruit (25%) lends the palate freshness and tension, sensual and harmonious with brown spices littered over the finish. This is a very satisfying, regal Griotte-Chambertin determined to give the Chambertin a run for its money.

Vincent Girardin Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2013 - Bt | VNS93+
HK$4200 ▷ HK$3400
Pale yellow. Captivating treble notes of lemon drop, fleur de sel, lavender and ginger, plus a touch of peach syrup. Very fine-grained and brisk, showing outstanding energy and lift that comes more from the wine's pungent stony minerality than from its average acidity. This very young wine is less rich and more austere than the Batard and even more backward today.

Jean-Pierre Guyon Echezaux Grand Cru 2019 - Bt | JM95-98
HK$8500 ▷ HK$6000
Imperial purple. The bouquet is divinely sumptuous, ultra floral in power mode, the most intense of roses that you could imagine. A heavyweight that is light on its feet, (stings like a butterfly and floats like a bee?) The spice at the finish keeps this fresh and delicious. Very long indeed. Tasted Nov 2020.

Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Richebourg Grand Cru 2017 - Bt
HK$8900 ▷ HK$7900
Crafted from 40 to 60-year-old vines in rich clay over limestone, it showcases vibrant ruby hues and complex aromas of ripe red and dark fruits, musk, and leather. Its rich, expansive palate evolves beautifully with age, revealing earthy notes and a balance of elegance and boldness, with excellent aging potential.
Sylvain Cathiard Vosne-Romanee Aux Reignots Premier Cru 2015 - Bt | NM92-94
HK$12000 ▷ HK$9500
The 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots has a gorgeous bouquet with mineral-rich red cherry, kirsch and strawberry fruit, quite open and expressive yet still beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, sorbet-fresh with hints of orange rind permeating the vibrant, fresh, tensile, almost tart red fruit, with a crisp and vivacious, animated finish. This barrel sample had so much energy that I almost asked Sebastien Cathiard for a leash. Electric!

Domaine Armand Rousseau Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Saint-Jacques Premier Cru 2010 - Bt | AG95-97
HK$17500 ▷ HK$14500
The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St. Jacques flows across the palate with fabulous depth and richness. Dark red fruit, licorice, smoke and exotic spices all come together in the glass, while the intensity of the fruit covers every corner of the palate. This huge, powerful wine will require considerable patience, but it is impeccable, not to mention stunning in its beauty. Anticipated maturity: 2025-2045.

Domaine de la Vougeraie Musigny Grand Cru 2009 - Bt | AG97
HK$19500 ▷ HK$13000
The 2009 Musigny is every bit as fabulous from bottle as it was from barrel. A knock-out bouquet leads to super-ripe, floral infused red berries. The 2009 boasts extraordinary perfume, silky tannins and phenomenal balance. I especially like the understated intensity. This is a breathtaking effort from Pierre Vincent and La Vougeraie

Domaine Georges & Christophe Roumier Les Amoureuses Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru 2012 - Bt | NM95-97
HK$41500 ▷ HK$30000
The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses has an atypically broody nose at first, so leaving the glass aside for a couple of minutes, one can see it transforms as those bewitching scents of red berry fruit, minerals, dried flowers and candied orange peel emerge with wondrous precision. The palate is medium-bodied with a firm structure and a more masculine personality than I have experienced vis-a-vis other vintages. There is very good weight and a lovely spiciness towards the long and totally entrancing finish. Perhaps the Bonnes-Mares has the edge at the moment, but this is still a sublime Amoureuses.

Domaine Leroy Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru 1998 - Bt | VNS94
HK$43000 ▷ HK$36000
Full ruby. Great soil-inflected nose combines spicy black fruits, licorice, iron and earth. Sharply delineated and stylish, with juicy, racy red berry flavors, powerful but fine tannins and superb persistence. Classic and powerfully structured. Offers considerably less volume than the '98 Leroy Clos de la Roche but conveys equally distinctive terroir character
-94, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com, March 2000
Domaine Ramonet Montrachet Grand Cru 2019 - Bt
HK$45000 ▷ HK$37500
This has smoky, oaky aromas of flowers, ripe apple, and spices. It offers good density and refined flavors with a long finish and a nice minerality on the long finish. Unlike many Ramonet Montrachet vintages, it can be enjoyed after just a few years, though it will be even better in ten years.
Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanee Aux Reignots Premier Cru 2019 - Bt | JM98
HK$55000 ▷ HK$45000
Much has been made of the new plot (2015) enabled by pulling out an almond tree, ploughing up the soil which had not seen vines for a century, and replanting at high density with 16,000 plants per hectare. This forms an extension of the existing plot, making 0.1854ha together, but the new vines are not yet in production. A fine medium deep crimson red, nothing remarkable there, but the bouquet most certainly is! Absolutely luxurious with the powerful fruit of Grands Suchots, yet the detailed glory of Romanée St-Vivant. Suave and sensual and wonderfully persistent. There is a delicious point of acidity and a faint touch of blood orange along with detailed red fruit alpine style. The quality of this wine is such that we are getting into the territory of lacking an adequate vocabulary.
