Tasting note
The 2017 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru offers dark berry fruit, cola and allspice on the nose; a faint hint of licorice emerges with time. The palate is quite chewy on the entry, grippy and firm, showing quite a lot of stem addition that makes it initially tricky to assess, although it coheres nicely in the glass. Tough going at the moment, but it will deliver with several years in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.
