Tasting note
Drunk over dinner at Restaurant Troisgros. Full, bright, fresh, clear yellow. The vintage shows youth and a little bit of heat but all is managed very nicely. Younger and tighter than I expected, and with too much power to be able to use the epithet graceful. The bottle had been opened and decanted four hours prior to serving which had I think had the unexpected effect of muting the aromatics and turning a youthful wine back in on itself. The intensity and class are absolutely there, though, and with a further hour in the glass the wine began to show the detail which was clearly waiting. At the moment there is so much flesh to this wine that it covers the characteristic stone of the appellation. Try again in five years? Tasted Jul 2018.
