Tasting note
The 2016 Morgon Côte du Py Les Impénitents from Desvignes is superb, unfurling in the glass with a brilliant bouquet of cherries, cassis, dark chocolate, pencil lead and plums. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and layered, with superb concentration, a pure core of fruit and fine-grained structuring tannins. Juicy but deep, it's delicious in the first flush of youth but has the substance to see out its 15th birthday in style.
