葡萄園有11公頃，坐落喺Pomerol著名高原嘅最高位，係區內最古老之一（可追溯到1595年）。土壤係礫石加深層黏土，鐵質豐富，所以酒有深度、礦物感同細膩。種植咗多達75% Merlot🍇（比區內好多都高），帶來豐滿、絲絨般嘅豐富口感；另外嘅25% Cabernet Sauvignon 就加咗新鮮感、結構，同埋淡淡嘅香料味。
酒莊用可持續方式種植，行間鋪草，有三分一土地仲用馬耕耘，好温柔呵護葡萄。葡萄全部手採，嚴格篩選，喺控溫不鏽鋼缸發酵。之後喺法國橡木桶陳年18–24個月（約60%新桶），單寧柔順，層次豐富。

The 11-hectare vineyard at the highest point of Pomerol’s famous plateau, one of the oldest in Pomerol with roots tracing to 1595, rests on a classic yet exceptional mix of gravel over deep clay, enriched with iron deposits. This terroir gives the wines remarkable depth, minerality, and finesse. Planted to a generous 75% Merlot🍇—higher than many in the appellation—it delivers plush, velvety richness, while the traditional 25% Cabernet Sauvignon adds freshness, structure, and subtle spice.
Farmed sustainably with grass cover between rows and a third of the land ploughed by horse, the estate emphasises gentle care. Grapes are hand-picked, rigorously sorted, and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Ageing lasts 18–24 months in French oak (around 60% new), softening tannins and building layered complexity.
🍷In the glass, Clinet is rich and sensuous: deep dark fruit, truffle, and cocoa notes wrapped in polished tannins. Powerful yet lifted and precise, these wines drink beautifully young yet age gracefully for 10–35 years.

Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London and then later at the château.The 2006 Château Clinet has a nose that appears to have reached maturity. Red berry fruit, red cherries, a touch of fig jam coming through with aeration. It is not as complex as the top tier vintages from Ronan Laborde and his team, yet there is charm in spades. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, grippy in the mouth and with an almost crunchy, cracked black pepper finish that is a little more reserved than I was expecting. I would personally open bottles of the 2006 over the next 10-15 years. Tasted March 2016.

With a dense purple color and gorgeous levels of fruit, especially black raspberry and blackcurrant, this full-bodied, opulent style of wine is another great success for Clinet, a château that has been on top of its game for the last decade. This is stunning stuff, and whatever new oak has been used – and there is plenty – it is totally disguised by the luxurious and extravagant fruit level. This full-bodied, opulent Pomerol should drink well for 15 or more years.
