呢個位於Morey-Saint-Denis嘅家族酒莊，由前專業小號手Jerome Castagnier自2005年起掌管。佢將音樂上嘅細膩敏感度😊，完美帶入釀酒工藝當中。酒莊總面積僅四公頃，其中一半位於頂級Grand Cru地塊🌱，包括Clos de la Roche、Clos Saint-Denis、Charmes-Chambertin同Clos de Vougeot。約75%出品係以Domaine Castagnier標籤裝瓶，由自家果實釀造，其餘約25%為negociant系列（Jerome Castagnier標籤），主要係來自 Puligny-Montrachet 同 Corton-Charlemagne 嘅白葡萄酒。
2023 年，Jerome進行多次綠色採收以提升果實濃度，並且幾年嚟第一次將所有葡萄完全去梗（因梗部未完全成熟）。酒窖工作溫和細膩，包括小心管理酒帽及rack-and-return技術，增加中段口感深度而又避免過度萃取。發酵後，酒先喺缸中靜候，再於最理想月相時刻轉入精心挑選嘅Francois Freres同Chassin橡木桶，陳年14 至 15個月，新橡木比例適中，並按每個 cuvee 度身調整。🙌💕

This small family estate has been led by Jerome Castagnier since 2005. A former professional musician, Jerome brings the same sensitivity to winemaking 😊 as he once did to the trumpet. The domaine spans just 4 hectares, with half in prestigious Grand Cru sites🌱 including Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis, Charmes-Chambertin, and Clos de Vougeot. Wines from the estate’s own fruit are bottled under the Domaine Castagnier label (~75%) , while a smaller negoce range under Jerome Castagnier (~25%) focuses mainly on white wines from Puligny-Montrachet and Corton-Charlemagne.
In 2023, Jerome performed multiple green harvests for better concentration. For the first time in several years, all the grapes were destemmed, as the stems had not reached full ripeness. Gentle cellar work included careful cap management and rack-and-return to build mid-palate depth without excess extraction. After fermentation, the wines rested in tank before being moved to barrel at the ideal lunar moment. They aged for 14 to 15 months in a thoughtful selection of Francois Freres and Chassin barrels, with new oak kept moderate and tailored to each cuvee.🙌💕
Jerome describes 2023 as an energetic, vibrant and fruit-driven vintage. The wines are beautifully balanced — lively and fresh, with excellent concentration and refined tannins. It is a range full of clarity, charm, and the estate’s signature vibrancy, depth, and graceful aging potential.
Highlights include the Chambolle-Musigny from 1921-planted vines in Aux Echanges, offering lovely concentration, juicy density, ripe fruit and soft tannins; the Clos de la Roche Grand Cru which is energetic and intense with chalky grip and long graphite finish; the Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru, more reserved and pure with delicate power and a perfumed finish; and the Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru from a 0.5-ha parcel in Grand Maupertui against the wall, intense yet elegantly layered with satin tannins.

Very old vines in Aux Echanges, the earliest dating from 1921. Mid crimson ruby. A soft but appealing bouquet, fleshy red fruits, an excellent depth of fruit on the palate with sufficient acidity at the back, even a mineral touch. Well delineated and with a long aftertaste. A vivid bright purple. Exuberant but not too heady fruit on the nose, boysenberry, blueberry, raspberry, all showing through on the palate. The one thing missing perhaps is complexity and this is less structured than some. A lovely wine in its fruit profile even so, with a touch of spice to finish. Drink from 2032-2040. Tasted Dec 2024.

A bright purple with greater density than the Clos de la Roche. The bouquet too, slightly more reserved because of the density, and with the oak a little more present. A bright purple to crimson colour. Classic Charmes sensuality on the nose with a touch of well-judged oak as well. Then I discover that the Charmes is denser than I first thought, with some black raspberry, and a bit of pepper, alongside the sweeter fruit. Nicely constructed with length at the back.
