Some of you may already have fallen in love with Anthony Thevenet’s wines, while others might be hearing about him for the first time—either way, you’re in for something special! We’re offering 5% off all of his wines from May 15–21 as part of the French Gourmay celebration.
After learning from natural wine legends Georges Descombes and Jean Foillard, Anthony started his winery in 2013, working with his grandfather’s vines—some over 150 years old! His organic methods create wines full of character, with Vinous’s Neal Martin saying they “quietly blew me away.”
We’re proud to offer a selection of Anthony’s finest cuvées: the “Beaujolais Blanc 2022”, a rare 100% Beaujolais Chardonnay, with a bright, citrusy freshness and balanced fruit, floral, and mineral notes; the “Beaujolais Villages 2020”, from sandier soils, full of lively red fruit with hints of dark chocolate; the “Chenas Vieilles Vignes 2018”, made from vines over 80 years old on deep pink granite sand and gravel soils, with a Pinot-like bouquet of berries and white pepper; the 2019 Morgon, from 60-to-80-year-old vines, with an elegant, mineral touch; and the “Morgon Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 2021”, sourced from 80-to-100-year-old vines, offering a rich, earthy warmth with fruity depth.
