Tasting note

The 2016 Meursault 1er Cru Blagny La Pièce Sous Le Bois has a tightly wound bouquet with dewy green apple, Cornice pear and light chalky scents that filter through with aeration. The palate is very well balanced, the most saline of Chérisey’s 2016s with touches of blackcurrant leaf and spice furnishing the lively and complex finish. This felt quite mercurial in the glass and offers superb length and something cerebral, a wine that really makes you think about what you just tasted. Superb.
