Tasting note
The 1989 Haut-Bailly is showing well, offering aromas of prune, blueberries, cedar, pencil lead and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and layered, it has an elegant structure with a deep core of fruit and a chiselled, elegant finish, concluding with a rose petal and smoke-inflected finish. Fully mature, this characterful red is perfectly defined by its site and vintage.
