Tasting note

Notes of violets, crushed cassis, orange rind and blueberries introduce the 2017 Morgon Côte du Py Les Impénitents, a special cuvée derived from three parcels within Javernières that were planted between 1912 and 1914. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and multidimensional, with incredible concentration and energy, displaying stunning concentration and length. This is an immensely good young Morgon.

Deep ruby. A complex, expansive bouquet displays spice-accented blackberry, cherry compote, candied violet and incense qualities, along with a touch of smoky minerality. Velvety and seamless in texture, showing impressive energy to the juicy dark berry preserve, cherry pie and spicecake flavors. Finishes extremely long and chewy, with steadily building tannins and lingering spice and floral notes.
