This 100% Meunier Brut from Treslon, aged on lees 36–42 months, delivers complex aromas of ripe pear, crisp apple, citrus zest, white flowers, and subtle brioche. The palate is smooth yet dense, with lively effervescence adding sensational fluidity, fleshy tenderness, round fruit, vibrant freshness, and a creamy finish.
Champagne Philippe Glavier Cramant Emotion Grand Cru 2013 - Bt | AG94

The 2013 Brut Cramant Emotion is powerful, virile and ample. A Champagne of striking depth and vinous intensity, the Cramant Emotion has a lot to offer. Crushed rocks, dried herbs and wild flowers are laced throughout a core of citrus confit. Light tropical accents add further shades of nuance. In the glass, the 2013 is vertical and wonderfully expressive, with a real sense of volume that builds into the resonant finish. Dosage is 4.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: July 1, 2019.

Benoit Dehu La Rue des Noyers V18 - Bt | AG94

The NV (2018) Cuvée La Rue des Noyers is classy, elegant and polished, all in the understated style of the year. Pear, dried flowers, chamomile and spice are all nicely layered. Soft contours wrap it all together in style. Consisting of 100% Meunier from a biodynamically farmed site in Fossoy, this was aged in barrels mostly made from trees in the surrounding forest. The 2018 is a bit lighter than some recent years, but there is plenty of subtle intensity here and a good bit of vibrancy as well. Zero dosage. Disgorged: December 19, 2022

Bereche et Fils Ay Grand Cru Extra Brut 2015 - Bt | AG94

The 2015 Extra-Brut Aÿ Grand Cru captures all the richness of Aÿ and of this dry, sunny vintage. Racy and exuberant, the 2015 offers up an exciting mix of crushed red berry fruit, lemon confit, ginger, cinnamon and dried rose petals. The Aÿ is a blend pf Pinot Noir from Froide-Terre and Chardonnay from Brise-Pot, co-fermented, with the Chardonnay lending notable freshness. That is especially evident on the lively finish. Dosage is 4 grams per liter. Disgorged: July 2022.

Pol Roger Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill Brut 2002 - Bt | RP97

The 2002 Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill is the stunning 2008's closest challenger in the decade, bursting with aromas of confit citrus, stone fruits, mandarin, sweet dried fruits, smoke and iodine. Full-bodied, layered and vinous, it's deep and multidimensional, with broad shoulders, terrific concentration and a long, resonant finish. In style, this shares all of 2012's breadth and flesh but brings more structure and tension to the equation. Still youthful today, the 2002 will drink well for the next two decades from a cold cellar.

Krug Vintage Brut 2002 - Bt | RP97+

Krug's 2002 Brut (ID 415064 – disgorged IV/2015) has an intense citrus color and opens with a generous, intense yet fine and precise bouquet that indicates great depth and elegance. Red fruit flavors on the nose lead to a generously rich yet pure, highly refined and elegant palate, with lots of ripe cherry fruits and delicious yeasty flavors. This is a highly complex and tensioned but beautifully balanced 2002 with a charming dosage that gives perfect roundness. The finish, however, is clear, fresh and well-structured, if not taut, and very mineral. Tasted in Reims in April 2018.
