Domaine Bruno Lorenzon Champs Martin Blanc Mercurey Premier Cru 2016 - Bt | RP94

I adored the 2017 Mercurey 1er Cru Les Champs Martin just after it was bottled, and this reencounter confirmed its very high quality. Wafting from the glass with scents of crisp orchard fruit, green mango and white flowers, framed by subtle hints of almonds and hazelnuts, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with lively acids, superb concentration and a long, precise finish. While it's still young, it has a glorious future ahead of it.

A blend from seven plots. The nose has become beautifully expressive with some greengage energy though the fruit is clearly ripe. Old style but very fine. Pale green tint too, youthful with very good acidity yet with a little flesh. Juicy enough and with excellent tension. Tasted Oct 2019.

Pale in colour with a toasty barrel reduction. Underneath there is something a touch riper with the honeysuckle note of later picking. A sweeter ripeness which doesn’t quite fit in to the house style. Fair length. Drink from 2027-2031. Tasted Nov 2023.

Benjamin Leroux Meursault Le Porusot Premier Cru 2010 - Bt | AG92

Leroux’s 2010 Meursault Poruzots is pure class and breed. An open, inviting bouquet leads to layers of expressive fruit as the Poruzots shows off its pedigree. Slate, crushed rocks and flowers add complexity and lift to the vibrant fruit. There is a crystalline purity to the Poruzots that is impossible to miss. Anticipated maturity: 2013+.

Jobard's 2022 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes is brilliant, mingling aromas of pear and orange oil with hints of white flowers, clear honey, toasted nuts and youthful reduction in a complex mélange. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's rich and vibrant, with impressive reserves of structuring extract and a long, resonant finish.

Domaine Dujac Morey-Saint-Denis (Ex-Domaine 2023) 2015 - Bt | RP90

The 2015 Morey-Saint-Denis Villages from Domaine Dujac is an excellent rendition of this cuvée, which wafts from the glass with aromas of sweet red berries, cinnamon, warm spices and rose petal. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and quite lavish, structured around fine-grained, satiny tannins and good acids, its finish sapid and long. For now, this Morey remains open and expressive.
