In celebration of our anniversary, we are proud to showcase a remarkable selection of mature wines🍷, most between 26 and 40 years old. These bottles are drinking beautifully right now, offering the complex, evolved character that only time can deliver🕰️.
From Italy🇮🇹, we feature icons such as the Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino 1986 and Luciano Sandrone Barolo Cannubi Boschis 2000, both displaying savoury grace and elegant evolution.
From California🇺🇸, the Heitz Cellars Bella Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon 1994 offers harmonious complexity with baked berry, menthol, and tobacco notes.
🇫🇷In Bordeaux, the selection features a wonderful range of styles and personalities: the powerful Chateau Lagrange 1986 with its warm spices and smoky earthiness, the charming and Pomerol-like Chateau La Dominique 1989, the earthy and structured Chateau Pontet-Canet 1998, and the pure, old-school elegance of Chateau Bel Air-Marquis d’Aligre 1999, from ancient vines (youngest now over 50 years old, some exceeding 140 years🤯) aged in century-old cement vats.
Of course, these are just a selection from our larger list — we have many more mature wines available. These are living wines — some bold and tannic in youth, now mellowed into refined maturity; others always built for subtlety and longevity. Chateau Bel Air-Marquis d'Aligre 1999 - Bt

This 1999 wine is crafted by legendary winemaker Jean-Pierre Boyer, who produced over 69 vintages from ancient vines up to 140 years old. In an old-school Bordeaux style, it focuses on purity, subtlety, and elegance rather than power or heavy oak. Expect beetroot, cassis, sour vegetal notes, and a distinctive grassy character.
Chateau La Dominique 1989 - Bt | NM90

The 1989 La Dominique is mature in colour with moderate bricking on the rim. The bouquet has probably faded a little in recent years, but is still utterly charming with elegant red fruit, iron rust, truffle and sage, perhaps a little Pomerol like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin. Now at almost 30-years of age it may have dried out somewhat, although it has retained fine balance and freshness, the final third with clove and black pepper coming through. Drink soon if you have any bottle and enjoy. Tasted at the vertical tasting at La Dominique.

Chateau Pontet-Canet 1998 - Bt

This wine is a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, and 7% Cabernet Franc. Now fully mature, it displays a characteristic bouquet of black fruit, especially blackcurrant, along with liquorice and prune, complemented by earthy, mushroomy complexity.
Chateau Lagrange 1986 - Bt | RP92

This 1986 St. Julien, now mature after nearly 40 years, displays a spicy and powerful nose of dark fruit, resin, tobacco, and smoky earthiness with elegance and balance. The palate offers black fruit, warm spices, and ripe, mellow tannins with solid structure.
Heitz Cellar Bella Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon 1994 - Bt

A cuvee that was discontinued after the 2007 vintage. This mature California Cabernet reveals warm aromas of baked berries, menthol, and tobacco. It shows vibrant acidity with strong mid-palate depth and a long, satisfying finish. The wine feels harmonious and enjoyably complex in its current evolved state.
Luciano Sandrone Barolo Cannubi Boschis 2000 - Bt | AG92

The 2000 Barolo Cannubi Boschis shows early signs of maturity in its autumn leaves, leather and spices. There is an attractive silkiness to the fruit, but ultimately the 2000 comes across as a bit two-dimensional, especially in context with some of the truly great vintages. The wine does freshen up a touch in the glass, not enough to make a material difference. Ideally the 2000 is best enjoyed over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2018.

Ethereal nose of aged fruit, forest floor, leather, and warm spice. Elegant palate with refined tannins, excellent structure, and a long, harmonious finish. Classic aged Brunello grace.
