六月的主題是南非，怎麼能不提到Minimalist Wines呢？Sam Lambson 這位年輕的釀酒師，當年僅21歲 - 還在Stellenbosch University攻讀釀酒學期間，就已經在2018年的London Trade Tasting上大放異彩！他的葡萄酒以鮮明的酸度和純粹的風味聞名，讓人驚艷。👍🏻
葡萄酒圈對他讚譽有加🤩👏🏻！葡萄酒大師Greg Sherwood MW 說他是「未來之星」。Vinous.com 的Neal Martin 品嚐了2019年的Stars in the Dark Syrah後，覺得它堪比南非頂級傳奇酒款，還預測Sam「得準備好迎接蜂擁而來的讚美和供不應求的熱潮」。另一位葡萄酒大師Jancis Robinson MW 則愛上了2018年的Elim Syrah，稱它「清新透明、鹹香誘人」，在Cape Town的Syrah中特別突出。
Minimalist Wines 堅持最少的干預，讓葡萄園演繹自己的獨特魅力。Sam 在酒窖裡小心呵護每一顆葡萄，讓大自然的味道完美呈現。他曾推出EXPERIMENTAL葡萄酒系列，小產量釀造其他品種，分享他遇過的有趣寶藏葡萄園，但此系列現已停產，讓他更專注於打造他最愛的Syrah。
他的Syrah三重奏🍇——Stars in the Dark、No Place Like Home、Connect the Dots——簡直是展現Cool Climate魅力的傑作。「Stars in the Dark」捕捉了Cape Agulhas崎嶇且近海的風土，強調清新和濃郁香氣。「No Place Like Home」來自Elgin Valley一幅3公頃葡萄園，融合三種Syrah clone，風味獨特。「Connect the Dots」則是跨區域混釀，探索開普冷涼微氣候的Syrah多樣性。

If June is dedicated to South Africa, of course we cannot miss this name: Minimalist Wines. Sam Lambson, a winemaker who, at just 21 and studying Oenology at Stellenbosch University, stole the show at a 2018 London trade tasting. His wines, celebrated for their vibrant acidity and pure expression, are truly something special.👍🏻
The wine world is buzzing about him🤩👏🏻. Greg Sherwood MW calls Sam “a star to watch.” Neal Martin of Vinous.com tasted Sam’s Stars in the Dark Syrah 2019 and compared it to South Africa’s most legendary wines, predicting he’ll “have to get accustomed to adulation and demand outstripping supply”. Jancis Robinson MW was charmed by the 2018 Elim Syrah, calling it “delightfully transparent, savoury, and appetising”—a standout in the Cape’s Syrah scene.
Minimalist Wines embrace minimal intervention, letting each vineyard tell its own story. Sam handles the grapes gently in the cellar, ensuring nature shines through. Sam briefly explored other varietals from small batches of interesting vineyard discoveries under an EXPERIMENTAL label, now discontinued, to focus on his Syrah craft.
His Syrah trio🍇—Stars in the Dark, No Place Like Home, Connect the Dots—shows cool-climate magic. “Stars in the Dark” captures Cape Agulhas’ rugged, maritime terroir, with a focus on freshness and aromatic intensity. “No Place Like Home” is another single-origin wine blending parcels from a 3-hectare Elgin Valley vineyard with three Syrah clones. “Connect the Dots” is a multi-regional blend exploring the diversity of Syrah planted in cool micro-climates of the Cape.
