Tasting note

The entry-level white from Jérôme Billard is much more than ‘entry-level’ in terms of quality. It is vinified in stainless steel, and Jérôme has been working to increase its substance on the palate. On this sample, drawn from cuve prior to bottling, I get powdered chalk minerals on the nose, with notes of peach, orange and honeysuckle, not to mention rose petal and a hint of mint. The palate has a supple breadth, perfumed with roses, mint, peach and orange. With time some of this exuberant aromatic profile will settle down, but this is full of promise. The alcohol will be around 13%. From my first Loire 2021 report.
