THE BEST VALUE Ontario’s cool, wet 2017 vintage favoured Riesling, according to winemaker Paul Pender. Here, aromas and flavours of wet stone, citrus and apple blossom are resolute and well defined. While this is made in a medium-sweet style, the depth of fruit and piercing acidity give deft balance. Above all, refreshment rules! An excellent value, entry-level Riesling, it is fashioned entirely with estate fruit coming from Tawse’s diverse vineyards, giving a focused, panoramic snapshot of the Niagara Peninsula.
